Myanmar Delegation led by Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commanderin- Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, on a tour to Russian Federation, visited the Main Cathedral of the Russian Armed Forces in the Patriot Park in Kubinka, southwest of Moscow, this morning Russian standard time.
First, the Vice-Senior General and the delegation arrived at the cathedral, where responsible officials welcomed them, and visited the nearby museum, in which weapons, ammunition, armour, equipment, pieces of equipment of medical corps, communication equipment used during the Second World War were on display, and studied programs about wars before raising queries about salient points and visiting inside the cathedral to study the history and documents of the cathedral.
The cathedral was built in honour of the 75th Anniversary of the Victory Day of Great Patriotic War on 9 May 2020 with the aim of establishing the Center of Military Glory.
It is composed of a 96-metre tall main building complete with a 75-metre tall bell tower, three other smaller buildings, four museums and parks, all of which were built within six months by employing more than 4,000 famous architects and artists on day and night shifts. On display there are more than 10 million photographs depicting activities of 1,418 days on which the Russian Armed Forces fought the war and the replica of war scenes with the use of vehicles and equipment used and damaged during the war and wall paintings were displayed near the main building and the walls.
