Tatmadaw members, families cast votes in 2020 multiparty general election

The Republic of the Union of Myanmar held the multiparty general election for 2020  in the entire country at 6 am today. Tatmadaw members and their families cast votes at the respective polling stations in accord with the rules.

Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla cast votes at the No (1) polling station at Zeyathiri Department Store in Anawratha Ward, Zeyathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw Council Area this morning.

Likewise, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief(Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Union Minister for Home Affairs Lt-Gen Soe Htut and wife,Union Minister for Defence Lt-Gen Sein Win and wife, Union Minister for Border Affairs Lt-Gen Ye Aung and wife, Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Mya Tun Oo and wife, Commanderin- Chief (Navy) Admiral Tin Aung San and wife, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Maung Maung Kyaw and wife,senior military officers from the Office of the Commanderin- Chief (Army) and their wives, officers, other ranks and families also cast votes atthe respective polling stations.

After casting his votes, the Senior General answered the questions raised by media. In answering the questions, the Senior General said he cast the votes today as he wished to vote together with his comrades and colleagues. In casting the votes, he chose the party that prioritizes the nationality, language, religion and education; that placed in the force Our Three Main National Causes; and that could work hand in hand with the Tatmadaw. He expressed belief in shaping a better future.

The Senior General said that he would accept the election result that would be in accord with the public aspiration. Hethen articulated the need to always bear in mind the ways and to exert efforts to solve public grievances. It was an inevitable task as they were matters of paramount importance, he pointed out.

Afterwards, the Senior General and party observed the officers, other ranks and families of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air) and Nay Pyi Taw  Command Headquarters voting systematically at the respective polling stations in Nay Pyi Taw Council Area and the masks, purified water bottles and foodstuffs provided by the Tatmadaw for the convenience of officers, other ranks and families and local  peoplecasting their votes, and instructed the officials to look into the requirements.

The Senior General then cordially greeted the voters. Command commanders, officers, other ranks and families also cast votes systematically at the respective polling stations of Nay Pyi Taw Command HQ, Northern Command HQ, North-Eastern Command HQ, Eastern Command HQ, Eastern Central Command HQ, Triangle Region Command HQ, South-East Command HQ, Coastal Region Command HQ, Yangon Command HQ, South-West Command HQ, Western Command HQ, North-West Command HQ, Central Command HQ, Southern Command HQ and regiments and units.

Representatives of the political parties observed the Tatmadaw members and families casting votes at the respective polling stations of the Office of the Commander-in- Chief (Army, Navy and Air) and military command HQs and local and foreign reporters gathered news at the places.
