Progress of caged fish farming in Upper Paunglaung Dam inspected

Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo inspected the caged fish farming in Upper Paunglaung Dam together with the vice-president of Myanmar Fisheries Federation yesterday.
The Union Minister greeted the locals near the dam area and pledged that the ministry will provide the needed things in conducting caged fish firming to ensure the nutrition, job opportunities, income and living standards of the residents.
Moreover, he added that the officials will communicate with the relevant organizations to grant small loans and crate market and arrangements will be also made with the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development to run as a team.
Then, the Vice-President of Myanmar Fisheries Federation reported on the cooperation work between the local residents and private entrepreneurs.
The ministry will expand the caged firming industry to ensure the local fish consumption, stable fish prices together with high production rate and manageable scale operations. Moreover, those who want to make a commercial investment will be invited as well as giving priority to local people as they can use the existing freshwater resources to save on investment costs.
