Religious leaders from Kachin State meet National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee

A meeting between the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee and religious leaders from Kachin State was held at the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Centre (NSPC) meeting hall in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday morning.
Chairman of the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee and Union Minister at the Office of the Union Government Ministry (1) Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and committee members, pastors from Christian churches in Kachin State, and the Joint Secretary and officials of the Kachin Baptist Church (KBC) attended the video conference.
Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae and Father Dr Kha Aung Tu of the Catholic Church in Myitkyina, Kachin State addressed the meeting.
Then, Secretary of the Committee Lt-Gen Min Naung explained the progress of the peace process and the current situation. The participants discussed peace and stability in Kachin State. The two sides also discussed the ongoing peace process and the repatriation of refugees.
After that, the Joint Secretary of the Kachin Baptist Church (KBC), Venerable Zay Khaung, and Union Minister Lt-Gen Yar Pyae made concluding remarks and closed the meeting in the afternoon.
