Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visits practising training middle school, sports grounds, the University of Mandalay in Mandalay

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Council Member General Maung Maung Kyaw, Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union ministers U Hla Moe, Dr Nyunt Pe and U Min Thein Zan, Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Maung Ko, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Central Command Commander Maj-Gen Ko Ko Oo and officials, inspected the practising training middle school in Chanayethazan Township, sports grounds and the University of Mandalay this morning.
First, the Senior General and party arrived at the practising training middle school and cordially greeted the headmistress and students. Next, the Senior General presented cash for the school fund and COVID-19 protective equipment, viewed around the school and fulfilled the needs for the renovation of the school.
At the school assembly hall, the Senior General met with the school heads of the primary, middle and high schools in Chanayethazan Township. He stressed the need for all school-age children to pursue education. He said as basic education is crucial, all need to cooperate in enabling students to be proficient in their basic education. For the students to improve their character and behaviours, they must be trained to cultivate the habit of keeping the school environs, classrooms and school desks neat and tidy and systematically disposing of garbage. Through school education and knowledge, they will be able to improve themselves in life. Basic education schools are the foundation for regional and national development. Meanwhile, they need to exactly follow the COVID-19 rules and disciplines, he said.
Then, the Senior General and party visited the Aungmyemantala football field in Aungmyethazan Township and Bahtoo sports ground in Chanayethazan Township and inspected the upgrading of the sports ground where they conducted round by Union Minister for Sports and Youth Affairs U Min Thein Zan and officials.
The Senior General spoke of the need for good sports facilities to promote the sports sector. In upgrading them, he said, recreation rooms for athletes and routes to the sports grounds must be considered. It is also necessary to build more stands on the football fields to ensure enough seats for spectators. He then gave necessary instructions and attended to the needs.
In the evening, the Senior General and party went to the main library of the University of Mandalay in Mahaaungmye Township where they were welcomed by Rector Dr Tin Tun, pro rectors, librarian Daw Aye Aye Soe and officials. The Senior General viewed the keeping of books in various subjects, academic and technical books and Parabaik literature, the Human Rights Resource Centre having links with the international community and CMU Corner.
The Senior General said as a library give knowledge about history, various subjects and social affairs, books of fine literature must be kept. He stressed the need for students to read and study books in a disciplined and calm manner without disturbing the environment. By following even the library system and disciplines, students will be able to do things systematically and cultivate good habits. Technological help is required to conserve the valuable books, treatises and Parabaiks in the library. Systematic keeping of the library and books is necessary for their long-term existence. Wealth can dwindle but knowledge is a life-long treasure. So, young people must be trained to be educated.
Later, the Senior General and party viewed around the university campus. After hearing reports by officials, the Senior General attended to the needs.
