Myanmar participates in 3rd International Symposium of AACC

The Constitutional Tribunal of the Union members U Khin Maung Oo and Daw Nan Sandar San joined the 3rd International Symposium of the AACC – the Association of Asian Constitutional Courts and Equivalent Institutions on 10 and 11 November via videoconferencing.

The Republic of Korea that serves as secretariat of research and development affairs hosted the International Symposium of the AACC on 10 and 11 November under the topic of “Constitutional Rights and AACC Members”.

The event was attended by the Chief Justices, Chairpersons, Secretaries-General and legal experts of the Constitutional Courts/Councils/Tribunals of the 17 AACC member countries, Venice Commission and Singapore University, including Myanmar.

The International Symposium was organized with three sections and Myanmar discussed the topic of “Constitutional Rights — New Challenges in Myanmar”.

The discussion included the economy, culture, religious affairs of the citizens of the 2008 Constitution and constitutional rights, persons authorized to submit proposals to Constitutional Tribunal, seeking decision of Constitutional Tribunal in line with the procedures if there is a dispute over any stipulations of law during the trial of a court and other challenges of the Constitutional Tribunal.

Moreover, the legal experts of the AACC member countries read the papers and exchanged their experience and knowledge.
