Senior General Min Aung Hlaing pays respects to State Ovadacariya Insein Ywama Sayadaw; donated offertories; supplicates on promotion and propagation of Buddhism

Chairman of the State Admi-nistration Council Prime Mini-ster Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by SAC member Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun, Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union ministers U Maung Maung Ohn, U Ko Ko, Dr Thet Khaing Win, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Commander of Yangon Command Maj-Gen Nyunt Win Swe and officials, visited Insein Ywama Pari-yatti School in Insein Township, Yangon Region, this morning, and paid respects to Insein Ywama Sayadaw. He also pre-sented rice, cooking oil, salt and requisites, donated by Tatma-
daw (Army, Navy and Air) families for the monks of the religious school and learner monks.
First, the Senior General and party paid respects to State Ovadacariya Shwedagon Pagoda Ovadacariya Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Tilokabhi-
vamsa Insein Ywama Sayadaw.
Then, the Senior General sup-plicated on religious matters including the erection of Mara-Vijaya Image that will become the tallest sitting stone Buddha statue in the world in Buddha Park, Dekkhina Township, Nay Pyi Taw, in accord with the counsel of State Sangha Maha Nayaka Committee and religious traditions, prescribed features for Buddha statues and Myanmar traditional customs, the program to place the detailed explanations of Tripitakat marble slabs in the park for public obeisance and propagation of the Sasana and as a long-standing religious record, the program to publish the detailed explanation of Pali Tripitaka also in Romanized language for the promotion and propagation of Sasana and to distribute the books to Buddha universities abroad, religious schools and monasteries free of charge, and missionary ser-
vices for promotion and propagation of Buddhism internally and internationally.
Afterwards, he asked after the health of the Sayadaw and explained the available medical tests and preventive measures, the drop in the COVID-19 infection rate to a certain degree due to the harmonious efforts of government officials, health staff, volunteers and people in carrying out prevention, containment and treatment undertakings, and the program to vaccinate 50 per cent of the population at the year-end.
In response, the Sayadaw expressed pleasure to know the undertakings for the development of the country and the people and for promotion and propagation of Sasana and wished him to ensure greater protection for race, language and religion. The Sayadaw also gave counsel on other matters.
The Senior General presented eight prescribed articles for monks, cash donations, 100 bags of rice, 100 visses of edible oil, one bag of salt, nutritious food, medicines, donated by Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air) families, to the Sayadaw. Union ministers also donated offertories to the Sayadaw.
The Sayadaw administered the Five Precepts and delivered a sermon. Merits gained were then shared.
