Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing meets departmental personnel and town elders of Kyunsu Township, Taninthayi Region, discusses regional development

Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing met departmental personnel and town elders of Kyunsu Township, Taninthayi Region, at the Kyunsu Town Hall this morning and discussed regional development programs.
Present were members of the Senior General’s entourage, the region chief minister, the commander of Coastal Region Command, departmental personnel of the township, members of township war veterans organization, town elders and officials.
First, township administrator U Aung Hsan Win reported on points of the area, agriculture and farming, rubber and oil palm plantations, marine resources production and cultivation, power consumption, field trips to issue NRCs under the Pankin project, support for health and education, necessary assistance for Salons, local and foreign visits to islands in the area, hotels and tourism business, pearl industry and regional requirements.
Union ministers explained ministry-wise accomplishments, including, resumption of Myeik-Dawei-Kawthoung flight, resumption of round-island flights in the coming week, safety and convenient coastal trips, maritime conservation for environmental safety, regional economic development programs through the quality improvement of local products to become attractive for local and foreign tourists, local food sufficiency, farming technology assistance for rural development and investment for small scale industries, production of pearl, tin, tungsten and birds nest and regional development programs.
The Senior General said regional development is the main agenda of the visit. Kyun Township has a large rural population that mainly engage in farming and fisheries. There is a certain level of urban development, but all in all, the area lacks development.
Locals should make changes for the development of their social lives and area instead of being content with the traditional ways of doing business.
Education promotion must be assured as human resources imbued with technological and intellectual skill is the foundation of regional development. The government has already reopened schools and universities.
Every individual should possess the knowledge and the State needs educated persons.
Learning is for the sustainability and progress of the personal lives of every child, and not for the benefit of the government.
Parents should deeply encourage their school-age children to attend classes. School education is the foundation of professional skills and knowledge.
The learning process needs extra encouragement and support for ensuring individual and regional advancement.
It is seen that there are needs for local foods and is needed to boost production rate rather than expansion of cultivated areas. It is suggested that agricultural products are to be manufactured locally as the prices of basic foods prices could be higher due to the traffic difficulties. The government intends to ensure adequate food regionally.
Regarding the economy, it will be more beneficial in the fishery industry if a number of finished products could be manufactured in the area of islands,
Kyun Township. Rubber and coconut are the crops to be successful in the Myeik area. It is needed for us to plant coconut commercially and to produce value-added coconut products.
The State will be encouraging this industry. If natural resources are utilized, Kyunsu Township will be developed more, and necessary techniques will be provided.
If you are willing to be developed, there must be efforts. It is needed to correctly use physical and mental capabilities to be developed. If going that way, there will be individual growth as well as regional development.
Tourism businesses are allowed to operate for the development of the local tourism sector.
It is necessary to prepare standard services to attract foreign travellers. Regarding generating electricity, there are survey tasks being taken. There are plans to generate solar energy and wind power and these plans will be helpful to the development of the Kyunsu area to some extent.
It is for departmental officials, the Tatmadaw, and locals to be in cooperation and solidarity for the development of the region.
These are what I suggested for the development of the Kyushu region and I want Kyunsu to lead the tasks for development.
Afterwards, the Senior General and party presented foodstuff and personal goods through the township administrator.
