NAY PYI TAW February 3
Vice-Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by SAC members U Saw Daniel and Lt-Gen Soe Htut, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Kayah State Chief Minister U Zaw Myo Tin, Eastern Command Commander Maj-Gen Ni Lin Aung and officials, met with members of the Kayah State government and state-level departmental personnel at the meeting hall of the state government’s office this morning.
Speaking on the occasion, the Vice-Senior General stressed the need to cooperate with sound advice in ensuring peace and stability, re-development and rehabilitation in Kayah State.
Despite some service personnel participating in the CDM or being absent for various reasons at a variety of instigations, I here respect and recognize those still serving their duties with loyalty. They deserve praise for their conviction to work for regional development amid various difficulties. The terrorist groups came to commit terror acts with slogans and threats to occupy Kayah State on 14 January 2022. But, they were thwarted by cooperation among the loyalist service personnel, security forces and local people. Development of the state requires the cooperation of all, not single individuals. Difficulties ahead must also be overcome through the unity of departmental personnel.
Region progress efforts require experts in related fields and officers and staff. Meanwhile, security forces need to ensure regional peace and security. But the cooperation of all will help develop the socioeconomy of the people in the state, the Vice-Senior General said.
The Kayah State chief minister explained business activities, measures for transport and communications, electricity supply and usage, education and health matters and preventive measures against COVID-19.
The Vice - Senior General asked questions about re-stockpiling of farm machinery and equipment, operation of private industries, distribution of electricity, situations of mineral processing plants, investment, health and education matters, COVID-19 vaccination and transport and communications, and attended to the needs.
In discussing regional development tasks, the Vice – Senior General said regional peace and stability are so important that departmental staff can accomplish their tasks. When the region restores peace and stability, preparations must be done to resume and operate the suspended businesses with added momentum.
As there have been annual objectives in respective departments, they need to be implemented till success. The Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister is making efforts for national prosperity and food security as a national task. These two points are related, and food security depends on the 70 per cent of the population is living in rural areas and their efforts for thriving agricultural and livestock breeding businesses. From a family to a community to the state level, they need to uphold these ambitions.
Relevant departments also need to provide technical help and knowledge inputs. As capital is necessary, businesses must continue to operate without stopping to ensure regional cash flow. As peace and stability is essential for regional development, departmental personnel, security forces and local people need to cooperate, he said.
After the meeting, the Vice-Senior General and party cordially greeted those present.
