NAY PYI TAW February 3
Vice-Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice - Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by members U Saw Daniel and Lt-Gen Soe Htut of the SAC, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Chief Minister of Kayah State U Zaw Myo Tin, Commander of Eastern Command Maj-Gen Ni Lin Aung and officials, met with officers, other ranks and families of Loikaw and Pekhon Stations and delivered a speech.
First, the Vice - Senior General delivered a speech, saying it has been one year since the Tatmadaw had to assume the responsibilities of the State in accordance with the Constitution (2008) and it has successfully overcome the crises and hardships together with dutiful civil servants.
The SAC will carry out its duties in accordance with emergency provisions. Measures are being taken to hold the free and fair multi-party general election without fail after the expiry of the emergency period in accordance with Section 417 of the Constitution (2008).
However, priority has been given to the peace process as regional stability and the end of violence are essential for doing so. Terrorist organizations like the NUG, the CRPH, their proxy called the PDF terrorists and some media, which are against the stability, are publishing fake news and rumours on social media and the government has been broadcasting true news via the state-owned media in real-time.
As section 337 of the constitution stipulates that the main armed force for the Defence of the Union is the Defence Services, it is necessary for officers and other ranks of the Tatmadaw to dutifully perform duties with the noble aim of defending the country in firm determination.
The internal unity of the Tatmadaw must be fostered and it is important to work with military knowledge and awareness while performing regional security duties as much as one can.
Then, the Vice - Senior General presented foodstuffs for officers, other ranks and families to responsible officers.
After the meeting, the Vice-Senior General and party cordially greeted the officers, other ranks and families who attended the meeting.
Moreover, the Vice – Senior General and the party proceeded to the defence services hospital in Loikaw and spoke words of comfort to officers, other ranks, families and local residents who were receiving treatments there before presenting gifts for them and fulfilling the needs reported by officials.
In addition, members U Saw Daniel and Lt-Gen Soe Htut and party, who accompanied the Vice- Senior General, met with members of Pekhon Township Administration Council and departmental officials at the hall of the headquarters of the local battalion and attended to the needs reported by them.
