Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visits newly constructed hospital building at Magway People’s Hospital

Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by officials, inspected a newly constructed three-storeyed hospital ward for general gynecology service and postnatal care at Magway People’s Hospital this afternoon.
Firstly, the Senior General was welcomed and greeted by Dr Thaung Hlaing, head of Magway Region Health Department, Dr Win Nilar Hla, medical superintendent of Magway People’s Hospital, and health personnel at the hospital.
Then, Union Minister for Health Dr Thet Khaing Win briefed on cooperation between the Ministry of Health and the Japan International Cooperation Agency to build the ward with the aid of the Japanese government, installation of equipment at the newly constructed hospital building and measures being taken for teaching supporting matter to Magway Institute of Medicines.
Regarding the reports, the Senior General gave necessary instructions saying the life expectancy in Magway Region is 65 years and the newly built hospital ward will be helpful to the health sector of the region as the region has a high rate of newborn death. Our country’s life expectancy is 67.42 years.
In Magway Region, there were 2,318 pregnant patients. As Magway is located at a centre point junction, it is necessary to ensure smoothly rendered public healthcare services there.
When he arrived there in April 2021, he discussed the matter of acquiring hospital equipment with officials from Japan and now the equipment has been installed at the hospital. It is needed to effectively use the equipment, and on the other hand, other hospitals need to be upgraded. The Ministry of Health needs to build more hospitals as there is a need for hospitals giving special treatment to cancer patients. It is necessary for the hospital to have solar powered electricity for emergency power in case of facing power cuts.
Afterwards, the Senior General took a tour of the hospital building and gave necessary instructions.
