Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attends cornerstone laying ceremony for building a replica of Kengtung Hall

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing attended a cornerstone laying ceremony for building a replica of Kengtung Hall on the plot adjacent to the land, where the Hall was located, near Naungton Lake in Kengtung Township, today.
The ceremony was also attended by Sayadaws and Sanghas headed by Nayaka Sayadaw of Kyaingyin Monastery Agga Maha Saddhama Jotikadaja Bhadanta Khemaca, the entourage to the Senior General’s trip, the chief minister of Shan State Government, the commander of Triangle Region Command and officials, relatives of Kengtung Sawbwa Sao Kawng Kiao Intaleng, donors, town elders, departmental officials, Shan, Lahu, Wa, Akha and Lisu ethnic people, and guests.
Firstly, the Senior General, his wife and party arrived at the place to hold the ceremony, and they were welcomed by departmental officials, town elders and local people with the Shan traditional dances.
Then, the Sayadaw of Kyaingyin Monastery, the Senior General and party took position at the place and laid cornerstones at the auspicious time.
Afterwards, the Senior General, his wife and party paid respects to the Sayadaw and Sanghas making enquiries on their health. Then, the Senior General and party had a view on facts about the Hall and left the venue.
According to the wish of relatives of the late Kengtung Sawbwa Sao Kawng Kiao Intaleng and locals and under the guideline by the Senior General, plans have been made to build the replica of the Hall. Besides, renovation of Mongpon Hall of Mon-gpon Sawbwa Sao San Tun has been completed 100 percent on February 5, 2021 and Theinni Hall of Th einni Sawbwa HkunHsang Ton Hong 60 percent so far. Furthermore, the Baptist church built in 1958 and destroyed in armed conflicts in 2011 in Panmu Village in Momauk Township, Kachin State was renovated in accordance with its origin under the guideline by the Senior General. Through renovating historic and religious buildings of ethnic people in accordance with its original designs, our country’s tremendous historic tradition could be reflected, and there will be much helpful to friendship, trust, peacefulness and socio-economic life between the national races living in the Union.
Later, the Senior General and party visited Thitabin Taung Resort in Kengtung and viewed the Kanyin Tree planted in 1753 under the rule of King Alaung Phaya and others there.
Regarding the report by officials concerned, the Senior General gave instructions on sustainable existence of the historic tree and arrangements for enabling travellers to enjoy the resort.
