Jewelled stake driven for construction of chamber in Maravijaya Buddha Park

A ceremony to drive jewelled stakes for construction of the chamber took place at the Maravijaya Buddha Park in Dekkhi-nathiri Township of Nay Pyi Taw Union Territory this morning.
Members of the Sangha led by Paukmyaing Monastery Abbot of Lewe Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Janinda and Maha Thihanada Monastery Abbot Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Acinna of Tatkon attended the ceremony together with Chair-man of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Se-nior General Min Aung Hlaing, Vice-Chairman of the Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Council members, Union ministers, the Chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Coun-cil, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, guests, and religious associations.
First, the ceremony was op-ened with Namo Tassa three times. Venerable members of the Sangha recited Metta dispersing verses. The Senior General and the congregation recit-ed Yatanattaya Puja verse and two stanzas of dispersing Metta three times in chorus.
The venerable abbots sprin-kled scented Paritta water on the jewelled stake and a golden stake driver. The laypersons conveyed the jewelled stakes and the golden stake driver as well as scented water bowls round the place for the chamber clockwise and sent them to the designated places.
The leading donor Senior General drove the stake in the centre of the stake area and sprinkled scented Paritta water on it.
Vice-Senior General Soe Win, Council members General Mya Tun Oo, Admiral Tin Aung San, Mahn Nyein Maung, Lt-Gen Soe Htut, Lt-Gen Yar Pyae, Union Ministers U Wunna Maung Lwin and U Ko Ko who took the designated positions in accord with the ancient treatises and drove the stakes at the designated places. Then, they sprinkled scented water on them.
The ceremony ended with recitation of Jayanto Bodhiyamule verses and Buddha Sasanam Ciram Titthatu three times. Later, they scattered confettis in commemoration of successful comple-tion of the ceremony.
At the briefing hall, Lt-Gen Kyaw Swa Lin and Lt-Gen Kan Myint Than from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) reported to the Senior General on work progress in building the Buddha image. The Senior General instructed officials to complete growing of trees before monsoon, make Myanmar handicraft by observing the ancient styles and systematically complete the works.
The Senior General and party inspec-ted carving of part 1 and part 2 of Maravijaya Buddha image with the use of modern machinery and attended to the needs of officials.
The Senior General inspected use of CNC machine in carving the nine feet high Buddha images and viewed round the Buddha park by car.
