NAY PYI TAW April 5

Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by Lt-Gen Aung Zaw Aye and senior military officers of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of Eastern Command and officials, inspected Tatmadaw (Army) Combat Training School (Bahtoo) this morning.

First, the Vice-Senior General and party inspected trainees of infantry battalion commander, company commander and platoon commander course taking the lessons of Myanmar National Human Right Commission through video conferencing and practical and theoretical lessons, lecture halls, library and history showroom and looked into the requirements.

At the briefing hall of the three-storey lecture hall, the commandant of the school reported on educational activities and training sessions of the school and Tatmadaw (Army) Officers Training School (Bahtoo) and ongoing four unit development tasks. The Vice-Senior General asked for more information and fulfilled the requirements.

At his meeting with officer trainees of the course at Aung San Hall of the school, the Vice-Senior General said Tatmadawmen must always keep in mind the four oaths and the 24-hour duty. They are the persons who have made a solemn pledge to sacrifice life and limb for the State and Tatmadaw with loyalty. They must also take pride in their unwavering national defence duty. They have been responsible for national defence every minute since they swore the oath by touching the State Flag after joining the Tatmadaw. The State and Tatmadaw in turn are providing them and their families with basic needs, healthcare, education and transport assistance. The expenses for all the aids for State service personnel come from the taxes paid by the people including them. So, they must be loyal to the State and people.

Tatmadaw is temporarily assuming the State duties under the emergency provisions in accord with the 2008 Constitution to steer the multi-party democracy system correctly.

There may be hardships as the State stability and the rule of law are the priority issues. So, they must make relentless efforts in the interest of the State and people. The trainees must study their lessons till they can apply their professional knowledge in dutifully serving the national interest. Only then will they be able to protect public life and property well.

The scope of national security extends from political, economic and social fields to patriotism and national sovereignty.

So, there is no place for any careless action. Tatmadaw members must be fit to shoulder gigantic tasks. Every individual soldier must follow the health guidelines. In this regard, efforts must be made in all seriousness to fulfill the needs of Tatmadaw families for all the soldiers to serve their duties without any worries. Goodwill ensures mutual loving kindness, attachment, understanding and trust between the upper and lower levels. So, they must be the leaders who are skillful in military science and administrative affairs and who can shoulder any kind of duty.

The Vice-Senior General presented foodstuff for instructors and trainees, and Lt-Gen Aung Zaw Aye, sports equipment for trainees through the commandant and deputy commandant respectively.

The Vice-Senior General and party enjoyed lunch together with trainees at the dining hall.
