NAY PYI TAW April 5

Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win met with instructor officers, officers, other ranks and families in Bahtoo Station at Aung San Hall of the Tatmadaw (Army) Combat Training School (Bahtoo) and delivered a speech this afternoon.

Also present at the meeting with the Vice-Senior General were Daw Than Than Nwe, wife of the Vice-Senior General, Lt-Gen Aung Zaw Aye of the Office of the Commander-in- Chief (Army), senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the commander of the Eastern Command and senior military officers from Bahtoo Station and their wives.

The Vice-Senior General delivered a speech at the meeting, saying it is necessary for instructor officers to be proficient in military science and technologies conducted at the school. Despite the differences in badges according to responsibilities and formation of units, all personnel are performing defence duties under the same objective by swearing the Four Oaths. In performing duties, it is important to implement orders and duties in accordance with the law and to safeguard the lives and property of national race people who want to lead peaceful lives in respective organizational areas. It is also necessary for responsible officers to take care of needs for food, clothing and shelters, transportation, health and education of families. As the defence strategy of the State is the people’s warfare comprising the entire people under the central role of the Tatmadaw, personnel are required to be have properly so that the public is the integral part of the Tatmadaw. Various challenges, threats and sabotage that followed after 1 February during the state of emergency could be overcome with the united force of people who want to lead peaceful lives and loyal staff and security personnel. The State Administration Council has been working in the interests of the State and citizens by adopting five-point roadmap and nine objectives. In implementing the five-point roadmap.

The Pankhin Project is being implemented to issue NRC cards to all eligible voters with the aim of holding free and fair elections. Personnel are required to cooperate in important issues in addition to security duties. Similarly, it is necessary for personnel to expose and foil the threats of terrorists from the point of view of security as they want to sabotage the efforts of the government for food security and prosperity of the country through various means. Moreover, the government is implementing the grade-by-grade compulsory education system from the KG to Grade-9 for every school age child in order to nurture new generation human resources for the country.

As only if the Grade KG+9 examination is passed, will there be accesses to join vocational training schools to have the jobs concerned, officials at different levels of the Tatmadaw units are to keep an eye on enabling the families to let their children enjoy education in accordance with the State’s policy and ensuring that the children will complete all the basic education classes without fail in grades.

On the other hand, it is learnt that terrorists are doing wicked acts over the examinations of the youths, who will be future leaders and human resources, by throwing grenades and detonating time bombs and remote-controlled mines inside and outside the compound of schools by catching security personnel off their guard to create threats so that the youths dare not come to the examination centres. Those terrorists have committed brutal, wicked violent acts by murdering the Buddhist monks without reason in the country with Buddhist majority of the population.

Such type of terrorist acts’ aim is not understandable.

Although there might likely be a sort of meaning if an organization or a person is attacked because of being against one’s wish or sentiment, unprovoked, injustice attacks on unarmed persons and organizations are the acts of committing inhumane crimes. Such terrorists will be annihilated through cooperation of the government, security personnel, civil servants and the people. Efforts will be made to be able to hold a free and fair election that the people want. As the Tamadaw members and their families are those who are part of discharging duties of the State at any time, it is necessary to be dutiful in those duties loyally and be fit and healthy individually.

For the interests of the State and the Tamadaw, all of them are to be united to overcome a variety of challenges and difficulties. The Vice-Senior General made coordination with officials over the reports by the officers, other ranks and their family members to fulfill their needs.

After the meeting, the Vice- Senior General presented foodstuff to the Tatmadaw members of the station through the commandant. Similarly, Daw Than Than Nwe, wife of the Vice-Senior General, presented cash assistance to the maternal and child welfare association through the wife of the commandant and Lt-Gen Aung Zaw Aye of the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) local foodstuff through an official.
