NAY PYI TAW April 7
Vice Chairman of State AdministrationCouncil Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by Lt-Gen Aung Zaw Aye from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army) and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air), met officers, other ranks and families of Nongwoe, Kyaingkham, Mongpyin and Taunggyi stations at the separate meetings this morning.
At the meetings, the Vice-Senior General said Myanmar is an independent and sovereign country. It strictly adheres to independent, active and nonaligned foreign policy. According to its geographical situation, the country firmly observes the foreign policy of non-alignment.
It could successfully overcome political pressures on the policy.
Success was achieved as the Tatmadaw has been protecting the nation with a firm belief in its national defence duty. Hence, preparations must be made with security awareness and outlook to have the ability to successfully perform this task.
Tatmadaw must undergo proper training and make appropriate preparations to overcome difficulties in cooperation with national people. Soldiers are the persons receiving salaries and rations provided by the State. So, they must be loyal to the State and citizens in accord with the four oaths. They must prove their pledges with action. Dutifulness amounts to loyalty. Some big countries and terrorist groups in the country applied various means to stop the government machinery.
But their acts do not go well as expected. In this regard, they are trying to break up the Tatmadaw that is the strongest institution of the nation throughout the successive periods.
As there may be attempts to sow seeds of mistrust, soldiers and their families must live in unity through weal and woe, while raising their family spirit of mutual trust, respect and reliance.
Responsible officials need to consider and attend to the needs of soldiers and their families from their meals to health and education. Then, Tatmadaw members will be able to shoulder security and military duties at full capacity without worries about their families. According to the country’s history and geographical conditions, the national defence strategy involves people’s militia strategy with the Tatmadaw as the base. So, they need to live in oneness with the people and should also know dos and don’ts in dealing with the people.
Meanwhile, it is necessary to in assist in the efforts for the socio-economic development of the people in respective regions.
As there were electoral frauds such as voting without national registration cards and casting more than one vote to grab power, the Tatmadaw took over State duties in accord with the emergency provision of the 2008 Constitution. The Pankhin project is being implemented to ensure correct household lists and issue NRCs to all eligible citizens so that a free and fair election can be held in 2023. So, region-wise cooperation is necessary. Since all the soldiers and their families need to be healthy and fit to be able to shoulder their duties assigned, they need to live a healthy life by following dos and don’ts. Then, the Vice-Senior General attended to the needs in coordination with officials concerned after hearing reports by the officers, other ranks and their families.
After the meetings, the Vice-Senior General presented food and cash assistance for the Tatmadaw members and their families to the commander and officials. Lt-Gen Aung Zaw Aye presented seeds for cultivation and food to officials.
Later, the Vice-Senior General and party cordially greeted the Tatmadaw members and their families.
