Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung, Lt-Gen Aung Soe from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army), senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy and Air), Coastal Region Command Commander Maj-Gen Saw Than Hlaing, met officers, other ranks and families of Zadetkyi and Kawthoung stations at separate meetings today.
At the local battalion on Zardetkyi Island, the Vice-Senior General and party heard a report on four unit development tasks.
The Vice-Senior General looked into the requirement.
The Vice-Senior General said global events show that some countries durable throughout the successive periods faced losses due to the results of wars.
All the progress realized during a long period collapsed within a short period. The country will celebrate its Diamond Jubilee Independence Day on 4 January 2023. It is the main duty of Tatmadaw to protect the country that takes a lot of time to develop. Despite the difference in armbands, all Tatmadaw members recite the same oath. Since they join Tatmadaw, they have taken the oath by touching the flag. So they must be loyal to the State and must be dutiful. Terrorist groups applied various means to annihilate the country totally during a year and three months administration of SAC. As they failed to realize their goal, they turned their attention to the country’s strongest institution, the Tatmadaw, including security forces. Some big countries are abetting and instigating them for their own geopolitical interest. All the soldiers and units are in unity and have mutual respect in accord with the slogan, “Whoever tries to divide us, we remain united”.
As for the soldiers discharging duties at the southern tip of the country, they must protect the country’s land and water resources in cooperation with administrative bodies and local peoples. As they are in the border areas, they must know and observe the policy stated in the Constitution. Officials should also strictly observe the bilateral border agreements.
Efforts are being made to realize 2022 as the year of peace. They must have knowledge of the peace olive branch extended by the Prime Minister. Officials should look into the needs of soldiers and families from their basic requirement to health and education needs. So that Tatmadawmen will be free from anxieties and be able to successfully serve their duties.
They must apply for a healthy lifestyle to shoulder their duties well. The Vice-Senior General looked into the requirements presented by officers, other ranks and families in cooperation with officials concerned. He presented foodstuff for them through officials. The Vice-Senior General and party cordially conversed with officers, other ranks and families after the meeting.
In the late afternoon, the Vice-Senior General and party asked after the health of officers, other ranks and families and civilians receiving treatment at the military hospital in Kawthoung, and presented food and other supplies for them. They then inspected the kitchen and dining hall of the hospital. The Vice-Senior General presented cash awards for hospital staff through the commandant.
