Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by SAC members U Moung Har, Saw Daniel, Dr Banya Aung Moe, Chief Minister of Taninthayi Region U Myat Ko, Commanderin-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung, Lt-Gen Aung Soe from the Office of the Commanderin-Chief (Army), senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Coastal Region Com-mand commander, deputy ministers and officials, inspected the 1,000-ton fish and prawn cold storage of Pyae Phyo Tun International Company Limited in Kyunsu Township, this morning.
The Vice-Senior General and party inspected the different stages of packing fish and prawn in accord with the GAqP (Good Aquaculture Practices) at the cold storage.
At the briefing hall, Director U Hla Than of the cold storage presented a report on activities of the company, modern sea prawn breeding and production process; Managing Director U Soe Win of Myeik Public Company Limited presented powerpoint report on the implementation of Myeik’s first ever international fish auction market and industrial zone projects under the Prime Minister’s guidance.
The Vice-Senior General asked for more information and attended to the needs through coordination.
The Vice-Senior General and party looked around the selfreliant shipyard of the company and fish and prawn farming ponds in a motorcade.
The cold storage was built during the period from 1998 to 2000 to turn marine products of Pahtaw-Pahtet Island near Myeik into value-added exports, reduce loss and wastage, increase the State’s foreign exchange income, generate job opportunities in the region, develop human resources, increase its annual tax payment, help develop health, education and social sectors of the locals, and ensure a safe social life. The cold storage checks quality and choose the size of marine products, washes and cleans them, packs them, chilled them before keeping them in it. It is buying fish and prawn of nearly 1,800 trawlers in the entire Myeik area. It is producing sending exports to Japan, US, Hong Kong SAR, China, Malaysia, Vietnam and Thailand in accord with the orders and GAqP. It is exporting about 1,000 tons of sea fishes, about 600 tons of prawns, and 290 tons of soft shell crabs annually.
It is the country’s faithful taxpayer company.
The Vice-Senior General and party paid homage and offered flowers, water and lights to Pahtettaung Atulayanthi Shwethalyaung Pagoda and presented donations through the pagoda board of trustees. The Vice-Senior General signed the visitor’s book.
