Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, accompanied by Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief (Army, Navy, and Air) the commander of Yangon Command and responsible officials, met with and delivered a speech to officers, other ranks and families in Cocokyun this afternoon.

First, the Vice-Senor General delivered a speech, saying the development of Cocokyun can be seen by all and it is necessary to raise security awareness against the penetration of terrorist groups who are displaced with the stability of relatively prosperous and geopolitically important island and as the personnel are performing duties off-shores, terrorist threats can be prevented with the unity of personnel inside units as well as that with the people outside the units. As the best way to achieve unity is team sport competitions, responsible officials are required to arranged team sports events. Concerning the maintenance of buildings, as necessary infrastructures for personnel and families have been constructed with budget of the state, it is necessary for them to utilize and maintain them for their durability. Concerning the training of personnel, personnel are required to undergo training round the clock day or night to fully perform state defence duties. As they are required to perform duties round the clock as necessary to perform duties round the clock anywhere and anytime day or night, they should not treat matters carelessly and perform training tasks in a timely manner. As personnel are performing duties in areas remote from headquarters, responsible officials are required to take measures to perform necessary hierarchy task properly without fail. Then, the Vice-Senior General coordinated the matters reported by attendant officers, other ranks and families together with responsible officers.

Then, the Vice-Senior General presented foodstuffs for officers, other ranks and families to responsible officers.

After the meeting, the Vice-Senior General and party cordially greeted the attendees.

In the morning, the Vice- Senior General, accompanied by members of the SAC, the chief minister and responsible officials from Yangon Region, visited residents of Cocokyun residents who were receiving treatments aboard the seagoing Hospital Vessel (Thanlwin) and presented medical glasses and foodstuffs for eye surgery patients.

The sea-going hospital vessel has been providing necessary healthcare services to Cocokyun local residents since 4 May and has given treatments to a total of 680 patients including 140 general patients, 50 surgical patients, 72 child patient and 63 OG patients, 108 patients with bone disease, 42 with ear, nose, throat disorders, 143 with vision problem and 62 with tooth problem.

Also in the morning, the Vice-Senior General and party arrived at the coconut and coconut product industry of the local battalion and inspected the palm oil factory, the production of coconut decoration and household goods and the coconut fibre rope factory. After hearing the reports of responsible official, the Vice-Senior General pointed out the needs to manufacture coconut products in cooperation with the Small-scale Industries of the Ministry of Cooperatives and Rural Development on a greater commercial scale and distribution of the product at cheaper prices.

Moreover, the Vice-Senior General and party inspected the cattle, broiler, layer, DYL pig and dairy cow breeding farms and seasonal crop plantations of the local battalion.
