Leadership role Whether a military headquarters is good or bad directly depends on its leader. A good leadership produces a good unit. Innovative ideas and true leadership will improve the leadership qualities. Good actions come together with good moral conduct. A leader will be able to give command effectively and put the right man at the right place only if he knows the attitude, capabilities and advantages and weaknesses of the subordinates. Leaders should try to live a perfect life and administer the headquarters well, while performing their daily duties in a correct way. Disciplining officers and other ranks under one's command through effective supervision equals a good training session.

In this way, a well-disciplined Tatmadaw must be built from individual soldiers and individual units. Leaders should take into account various angles in their administrative functions. Discipline must be enforced through different levels of command and the correctness in every stage of the work process must be ensured. Skill and talent can be applied just for a particular task or a field, while good leadership involves excellent thinking power and a wide array of ideas. Hence, leaders must try to possess this ability. They must systematically command their units as a well-disciplined and obedient Tatmadaw is their ultimate goal.
