Chairman of the State Administration Council Commanderin-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a peace delegation led by Vice Chairman (1) of PaO National Liberation Organization (PNLO) Khun Tun Tin at the parlour of Bayintnaung Villa here this morning and discussed matters relating to peace.
Also present at the meeting together with the Senior General were SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Commanderin-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win, SAC members General Mya Tun Oo, Lt-Gen Moe Myint Tun and Lt-Gen Yar Pyae. The PNLO vice chairman (1) was accompanied by Joint Secretary (1) Khun Min Thein and Central Committee member Khun Zwe Hto.
At the meeting, the Senior General discussed continued efforts in the successive eras to achieve peace by ending armed conflicts in the Union, the need to seek peaceful ways in exercising multi-party democracy despite different political ideologies, demands of EAOs during peace talks, seeking a solution to really possible issues through detailed discussions, the need to hold discussions with farsightedness in the interest of the Union, adoption of multi-party democracy aspired by the people and the establishment of a Union based on democracy and federalism.
After expressing thanks for the chance to participate in the peace talks, the PNLO vice chairman (1) and delegation remembers discussed the PNLO’s adherence to seeking a peace solution, practice of multiparty democracy and similar views on the establishment of a Union based on democracy and federalism and presented regional development matters.
Then, both sides cordially discussed peace issues and regional development tasks.
After the meeting, the Senior General presented souvenirs to the PNLO vice chairman (1) and delegation members.
The vice chairman (1) returned local products to the Senior General, and they posed for a documentary photo.
The delegation will continue peace talks with the Peace Talks Committee and the National Solidarity and Peace-making Negotiation Committee formed with SAC members.
