SAC Information Team holds 16th Press Conference

The 16th Press Conference of the Information Team of the State Administration Council was held at the Ministry of Information this afternoon and Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained the issuance of notifications concerning the people who want to return to legal fold from organizations that have opposed the government by taking up arms including the PDF, invitation for education staff who have neglected their duties and terrorists acts of so-called PDF while Member U Khin Maung Oo of the Union Election Commission explained measures being taken by the UEC.

Also present were members of the Information Team of the SAC, representatives from respective ministries, responsible officers from the Tatmadaw Information Team, invited guests and reporters from local news agencies, dailies, local television channels and locally based foreign news agencies.

First, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained the desire of the government to encourage entire national people to participate in national development tasks and nation building unitedly, measures being taken to allow members of armed oppositions including the PDF and various

organization who want to return to the legal fold and to rejoin public lives in accordance with designated conditions after surrendering their arms due to request of some parents to the government, the commiseration for the feeling of parents and expectation of people who desire to work in the interest of the nations, the situation of return to legal fold by members of the PDF in regions and states, similar measures taken by the State Law and Order Restoration Council when the Tatmadaw had to assume the state responsibilities, the efforts of the SAC to promote peace, direct talks between the peace negotiation committee and EAOs, strengthening of peace with signatories of the NCA, measures being taken to allow non-signatories to the NCA,

to deescalate armed conflicts and to reach agreements, the discussions with respective EAOs which accepted the peace proposals of the Chairman of State Administration Council and Prime Minister, further discussions in future, reinvitation sent to EAOs that have failed to come to peace talks in the interest of the country and respective areas, participation of some education staff in the CDM due to instigation and intimidation of politicians, notifications for teachers who have neglected their duties over worries about their participation in peaceful demonstrations to resume their teaching duties by sending appeals to respective schools and township education offices by completing designated forms on their own accord, and terrorist acts against teachers and education staff and destruction of schools in 2022-2023 academic year through video files and PowerPoint presentations.

Then, UEC Member U Khin Maung Oo explained the measures being taken to check population census against the number of people on the ground to secure correct voters’ lists and tasks being carried out by the UEC including the inspection of political parties via Power-Point presentations.

Then, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, UEC Member U Khin Maung Oo and representatives of departmental information teams responded to the questions raised by reports from news agencies and the press conference successfully concluded.

At the press conference, information about the return of members of armed opposition including the PDF to the legal fold, peace process, re-invitation of basic education staff who have neglected their duties and documentary photographs tasks of the UEC were on display for reference purpose.
