Information Team of State Administration Council holds 17th press conference
The 17th press conference of the Information Team of the State Administration Council took place at the Ministry of Information this afternoon. Leader of the Information Team of SAC Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained national and Tatmadaw level internal and external meetings and discussions, economic and social measures of the State and terror acts of NUG and socalledPDF terrorist groups and member of the Union Election Commission U Khin Maung Oo, matters related to the election commission.
The press conference was attended by members of the Information Team of the SAC, representatives of relevant ministries, officials of TatmadawInformation Team, guests and reporters from local news agencies, daily newspapers, local TV broadcasting stations and local-based foreign news agencies.
First, Leader of the SAC’s Information Team Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun clarified exercising the independent and active non-aligned foreign policy, the policy on world peace and friendly relations among the countries, the principles on peaceful co-existence among the global countries, perpetually stable, peaceful and tranquil neighbouring relations, ASEAN framework and procedures by the State, attendance of member of the State Administration Council Union Minister for Defence General Mya Tun Oo to the 16th ASEAN Defence Ministers’ Meeting and related meetings hosted by ASEAN Alternate Chair Cambodia and participation in the discussions, and releasing the facts, holding the 34th Myanmar-Thai Border Committee meeting in Taunggyi on 28 and 29 June, and discussions of Thai delegation leader Lt. Gen. Apichet Suesat who called on Chairman of the State Administration Council Commanderin- Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in Nay Pyi Taw on 29 June, the working visit to Myanmar of the delegation led by H.E. Mr. Prak Sokhonn, Special Envoy of the Alternate ASEAN Chair on Myanmar Deputy Prime Minister of Cambodia, and the meting of Lancang-Mekong cooperation meeting.
He continued to clarification on holding further talks with SSPP and LDU groups as 10 ethnic armed organizations wishing to actually restore peace for the local people with regard to the invitation to peace talks have held the positive talks from 20 May to 20 June. The Information Team leader explained attending of students in 2022-2023 academic year and passing the matriculation examination in 2021- 2022 academic year, arrangements to organize the matriculation examination for the last time in 2023 for the students who failed in the 2022 matriculation exam and those who missed chance to take the exam for various reasons, reopening of universities and colleges, and re-invitation of the government to students from border regions and unsafe places at home for various reasons, wishing to rejoin the universities for continuing their academic matters, conducting the tests for lessening infection of COVID- 19, finding of viruses, progress of vaccination, arrangement of the government not to totally run out the cooking oil despite high price in the international market, import and storage of cooking oil, local and foreign loans, terror acts of NUG and so-called PDF terrorist groups and their relations, conflicts among Red Shan ethnic, KIA and so-called PDF terrorist group, and matters related to Ukarihta military base with the use of video files and PowerPoint Presentation.
UEC member U Khin Maung Oo also explained 2020 general election process, taking action against those who participated in vote-rigging process and unlawful acts, checking of ground population to have the complete voter lists, and measures of UEC through PowerPoint Presentation. SAC Information Team Leader Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, UEC member U Khin Maung Oo and departmental representatives of information team replied to queries raised by reporters.
