Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister sends message of condolences to Prime Minister of Japan for the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe

The Chairman of the State Administration Council the Prime Minister has sent a message of condolences to the Prime Minister of Japan for the death of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. The full text of the message reads as follows:

Excellency,

We are shocked and amazed to hear the news of the assassination of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe by a gunman in the city of Nara on 8 July 2022, and we feel so sad for his death. We utterly condemn this coward and ignorant act of terrorism.

I, on behalf of the Republic of Union of Myanmar and the people, would like to express deepest sympathy for the Japanese government and the bereaved family of Mr Abe through Your Excellency.

Mr. Abe’s exemplary services in the interest of Japan and its people will always be in the hearts of Japanese people. He is a true and a good old friend of Myanmar. Myanmar people will always remember his dedication to further strengthening friendship and partnership between the two countries. At this time of bereavement, Myanmar people would like to share the grief with their Japanese counterparts.

Your Excellency, I would like to reiterate my love and respect for you.

Chairman of the State Administration Council the Prime Minister has also sent a message of condolences to Mrs. Akie Abe, wife of former Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
