Delegation led by Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visits Kazan Federal University in Republic of the Tatarstan

A Myanmar delegation visiting the Russia Federation led by Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by Military Attaché Brig-Gen Moe Kyaw and officials, visited Kazan Federal University in the Republic of Tatarstan this morning.

First, the Senior General and delegation arrived at Kazan Federal University (Kazan State University), where Deputy Rector Mr. Timirkhan Alishev and officials greeted and conducted the Senior General and delegation around the halls, lecture rooms, the convocation and the display of documentary photographs of professors and outstanding scholars who served in the university. The Senior General raised questions on matters of interest.

Then, the deputy rector explained the brief history of the university, formation of respective departments, courses conducted at the university, arrangements for food and accommodation of students and admission of foreign students.

The Senior General discussed and raised questions on salient points.

Then, the Senior General and the deputy rector exchanged gifts and viewed around the university with responsible officials who conducted the Senior General and delegation.

The university was founded as the Imperial Kazan University in 1804 and famous astrologist Nikolai Ivanovich Lobachevsky served as the rector from 1837 to 1876. The university is famous for discovery of organic chemistry and electron spin resonance. The university was promoted to the federal level in 2011 and one of the 18 universities that implemented Project 5-100 of the Russian government.

The university specializes in biomedicine and medicine, oil processing and production, communication and space technologies and social science and admitted more than 10,000 foreign students as of 2020.

Similarly, Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, wife of the Senior General, and party and outstanding male and female officers visited attractions of the city conducted by officials and responsible officers from the embassy and office of the military attaché.
