Delegation led by Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing arrives in Novosibirsk, visits Novosibirsk State University and Higher Military Command School

The delegation led by Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, currently in the Russian Federation, accompanied by Myanmar Ambassador to Russia U Lwin Oo, Military Attaché Brig-Gen Moe Kyaw and officials, left St. Petersburg by air for Novosibirsk this morning at local standard time. And they were seen off at Pulkovo International Airport by officials from the government of St. Petersburg. On arrival at Tolmachevo airport in Novosibirsk, the Senior General was warmly welcomed by officials in accord with the tradition.

Next, the Senior General and delegation members visited Novosibirsk State University where they were welcomed by Rector Dr. Mikhail Petrovich Fedoruk and officials. The Senior General was briefed on the booths on subject-wise science and technology research, discoveries about chemistry, physics, applied mathematics, information technology, zoology and geology and predictions about the future world made by modern technology and conducted round the lab, research room and lecture halls. The Senior General asked for further information and made a discussion.

At the meeting hall of the university, the Senior General was shown a video file on teaching process at the university. The rector briefed on facts and data about the university, acceptance of foreign students, teaching programmes about subject-wise curriculums, construction of dormitories and sport stadiums for students and willingness to welcome Myanmar students for their study.

The Senior General raised a question about required qualifications for students and plans to send military and civilian trainees from Myanmar. Then, the Senior General and rector exchanged gifts, went round on the university campus and posed for a souvenir photo.

Novosibirsk State University was opened in 1958 and is a private- owned research university.

In 2022, it was ranked 246th of QS World University. The university has departments of social science, medicine and psychology, philosophy and law, mathematics and industrial science, physics, geology and geo-physics, natural science, information and technology, business and management and training as well as second language courses on English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Japanese and Chinese.

Afterwards, the Senior General and party went to Higher Military Command School where they were welcomed by Commandant Major General Markochin Segeri Gregorivich and officials. Next, the Senior General and delegation members saluted the statues of those who were awarded gallantry medals for sacrificing their lives for the State and laid a wreath.

Next, the Senior General and party studied shooting skills of the trainees and weapons produced by the Russian army and aiming sights in the simulator hall. They were conducted round by officials. The Senior General accepted a historic aiming sight as a gift and returned a souvenir.

At night, the head of the Novosibirsk government hosted a dinner to the Senior General and delegation members. During the dinner, a cultural troupe performed traditional songs and dances. The Senior General presented cash awards to the troupe.
