Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win attends 75th Martyrs’ Day

The 75th Martyrs’ Day for 2022 was observed at the Martyrs’ Mausoleum in Bahan Township, Yangon, at 8 am today, attended by Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win.

Also present were SAC members Mahn Nyein Maung and Jeng Phang Naw Taung, Union Chief Justice U Tun Tun Oo, Chairman of the Martyrs’ Day Organizing Central Committee Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko, Union ministers U Maung Maung Ohn, U Myint Kyaing and Dr Thet Khaing Win, Central Committee Vice Chair Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Yangon Command commander, deputy ministers, officials, work committee members, subcommittee members, departmental personnel, families of the martyrs and invited guests.

The Vice-Senior General and party cordially greeted the families of martyrs and invited guests.

The Vice-Senior General and attendees laid the wreath of the Republic of Union of Myanmar at the Mausoleum, paid tribute to General Aung San and martyrs.

At the moment, the flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar was lowered to halfmast, the guard of honour presented arms, and the military band played the Last Post bugle call and observed a twominute silence.

Afterwards, families of martyrs and representatives laid wreaths and paid tribute to the martyrs.

Members of Yangon Region government, representatives of political parties, heads and chargés d'affaires of diplomatic missions in Myanmar laid wreath and paid tribute to the General Aung San and martyrs.

Social organizations including Myanmar War Veterans Organization, Myanmar Red Cross Society, Myanmar Motion Picture Association, Myanmar Music Association, Myanmar Drama Association, Myanmar Painting/Sculpture Association (Central), Myanmar Publishers and Distributors Association, Myanmar Writers Association, Myanmar Press Council, Myanmar Journalists Association, Myanmar Women’s Federation, Myanmar Maternal and Child Welfare Association, Myanmar Engineering Council and Myanmar Medical Association also laid wreaths and paid tribute.

The public attending the ceremony waited in line for their turn to pay tribute to the martyrs in accord with the COVID-19 rules.

The 75th Martyrs’ Day was observed in accord with the directives issued by the Ministry of Health.
