Information Team of State Administration Council holds 18th press conference

The 18th press conference of the Information Team of the State Administration Council took place at the Ministry of Information this afternoon.
Leader of the information team of SAC Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained the journey to Russia, financial measures, usage of Pyu Saw Htee made by some terrorist groups and some destructionist media, measures of armed ethnic organizations and education matters and member of the Union Election Commission U Khin Maung Oo, electoral measures.
The press conference was attended by members of the SAC Information Team, representatives of relevant ministries, officials of the Tatmadaw Information Team, guests and reporters from local news agencies, daily newspapers, local TV broadcasting stations and local-based foreign news agencies.
First, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun explained diplomatic relations between Myanmar and the Russian Federation, the visit of the delegation led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister to the Russian Federation from 10 to 16 July, discussions and negotiations of officials from various sectors for cooperation between Myanmar and Russia, rumours over the directive and notification of the Central Bank of Myanmar, the plans of the State to provide house rental fees for public service personnel (permanent) at 8 percent of salary for the married ones and 4 percent for singles, and Ks-10,000 as hardship and risk allowance to members of the Myanmar Police Force, and plans to disburse loans to local businesspersons at soft interest rate.
He continued the clarifications on usage of Pyu Saw Htee made by some destructionist media and terrorist groups, the history of emergence of Pyu Saw Htee, no formation of pocket army by both the government and the Tatmadaw for setting up the dictatorship system under the disguise of democracy, and efforts of the Tatmadaw to allow formation of people’s militia under the existing law as the people sought the approval for formation of the people’s militia for security measures of the communities, putting them up with necessary arms and giving training and military disciplines to them.
He also explained arrangements being made for holding the second peace talks between the Prime Minister and seven NCA signatory ethnic armed organizations and two nonsignatories, totalling nine as a result of a peace offer given by the SAC Chairman Prime Minister, and preparations to hold the talks with some ethnic armed organizations.
He then briefed on AA’s arrest of some innocent civilians, service personnel and security forces over the past few months despite the Tatmadaw’s effort to build peace with it to some extent since 2020, instigation of some internal destructive elements who want no peace and stability in Rakhine State to cause misunderstanding and doubts with the use of false news and information, some conflicts within the KNU group regarding the peace issue, opening of door to those who really want peace as there are those wanting to pursue the NCA path, and the issue of Kaung For You Online School illegally launched by the NUG terrorist group and other related cases with the use of video files and PowerPoint presentations.
Next, UEC member U Khin Maung Oo clarified inspections of the political parties, and its electoral activities including assessment of on-ground population data to ensure complete voter lists with the use of Power Point presentations.
Then, Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun, U Khin Maung Oo and representatives of departmental information teams answered the queries raised by reporters from the news agencies.
