The Myanmar Tatmadaw delegation, which was visiting Russian Federation, led by Vice Chairman of State Administration Council Deputy Commander- in-Chief of Defence Services Commander-in-Chief (Army) Vice-Senior General Soe Win attended the closing ceremony of International Army Games – 2022 held at the Convention Center in Moscow, Russian Federation, in the evening local time on 27 August.
First, the Vice-Senior General and delegation viewed the House of Friendship Exhibition in the Alabino training grounds together with other guests.
Then, the Vice-Senior General and delegation watched the final of Tank Biathlon (Division-1) between the teams of China, Russia, Belarus and Uzbekistan. In the contest, the Russian tank crew won the first prize with 1 hour 29 minutes and 36 seconds. The Belarus tank crew won the second prize with 1 hour 41 minutes and 04 seconds and the China tank crew won the third prize with 1 hour 44 minutes and 03 seconds.
Then a Russian officer praised the participants and expressed thanks to heads of state who sent the competing teams on behalf of the defence minister of Russian Federation. Afterwards, prizes were presented to winning crews in the Tank Biathlon (Division-1) and the ceremony concluded with cultural traditional entertainment.
A total of 37 countries participated in the International Army Games – 2022, which were hosted by 12 countries including Russia. Myanmar Tatmadaw teams took part in the tank biathlon, Military Medical Relay Race (Medical Staff Competition) and Sniper Frontier of the International Army Games-2022 and related competitions including the Army of Culture.
Together with other teams from Syria, Laos, Iran, Tajikistan, South Ossetia, Abkhazia, Sudan, Zimbabwe, Armenia, and Mali, the Myanmar Tatmadaw team took part in full-speed record taking, immobile three 125mmround firing, immobile 12.7mm anti-aircraft machine gun 15-round firing, and immobile 7.62mm mounted machine gun 15-round firing contests of the Tank Biathlon (Tank Crews Competition) Division-2.
Myanmar Team won the first prize by finishing the 11-nation contest in one hour 36 minutes 25 seconds and hit 14 targets out of 15.Crew-1 of the Team finished the contest in 27 minutes 43 seconds; Crew-2, 38 minutes 14 seconds; and Crew-3, 30 minutes 28 seconds.
Myanmar Tatmadaw took the fourth place in 7-nation Sniper Frontier competition and the perseverance award and the fourth place among 16 teams in Military Medical Relay Race (Medical Staff Competition).
Similarly, cultural teams from the Myanmar Tatmadaw won the first prizes in instrument playing competition, duo singing competition (Russian songs), the third prize in dancing competition, the second prize in the singing competition (Single), the third prize in the best performance reflecting traditional culture competition, the third prizes in folk national instrument competition and in cultural exhibition competition and the first prize in People’s Choice Award, which was judged by online voting system by the audience.
Moreover, the team members of Tatmadaw also gained experience in international military contests, technical knowledge and new friendships at the Internatoinal Army Games – 2022. Tatmadaw teams will participate in the future games.
