Chairman of State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects Tatmadaw Textile Factory (Meiktila)

Chairman of the State Administration Council Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, accompanied by SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union ministers U Tin Htut Oo, U Hla Moe, Dr Charlie Than,Chief Minister of Mandalay Region U Maung Ko, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, Central Command Commander Maj-Gen Ko Ko Oo and members, inspected Tatmadaw Textile Factory (Meiktila) in Meiktila, Mandalay Region, this morning.
At the meeting hall of the factory, the Senior General heard a report on progress in implementing the guidance given by him during the inspection of the factory in December 2021, the factory’s brief history, various kinds of cotton fibers produced by the factory, agricultural undertakings for staff welfare, test production of 2/80 fibers with locally produced cotton and test run programs presented by Maj-Gen Win Lwin, Director of Directorate of Ordnance.
In response, the Senior General discussed means to produce quality cloth from local cotton strains, fulfill yarn and fabric demand of domestic MSMEs at the time when 2/80 fibers can be produced internally and upgrade the machines of the factory. He also gave necessary guidance for officials.
Afterwards, the Senior General inspected the quality of the displayed fabrics for uniforms and textiles produced by the factory and provided the factory staff with cash awards.
