SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win addresses first coordination meeting of Central Committee for Organizing the 76th Anniversary of Union Day

Chairman of the Central Committee for Organizing the 76th Anniversary of Union Day 2023 Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win delivered an address at the first meeting of the central committee for 2023 at the SAC Chairman Office in Nay Pyi Taw this afternoon.
It was also attended by Central Committee member Union ministers, the chairman of the management committee, deputy ministers who are in capacities of chairmen of relevant subcommittees and officials together with remaining committee members through video conferencing.
At the meeting, the Vice-Senior General said that it was the first coordination meeting to negotiate the necessary measures for successfully holding the 76th Anniversary of the Union Day. The Diamond Jubilee Independence Day ceremony will be held in January and the 76th Anniversary of Union Day will also be marked.
Although the ceremonies are seem as a series, these must be held on a grand scale as these are State level celebrations.
The five National Objectives for the 76th Anniversary of Union Day have been released, and the ceremonies must be held in line with these objectives.
As the Diamond Jubilee Union Day was successfully marked through the united strengths on 12 February 2022, arrangements are being made to hold the Diamond Jubilee Independence Day on a grander scale. The 76th Anniversary of Union Day will be marked as usual similar to the 74th Anniversary celebration. Hence, officials need to discuss such a topic mentioned in the schedules.
Conveyance of the State flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to regions and states to spend a night is one of the essences of the celebration.
At the ceremony to mark the Diamond Jubilee Union Day, the Union flag kept in Yangon City was conveyed to Nay Pyi Taw Council Area on a grand scale. As a plan was set to convey the Union flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar to respective regions and states once every five years buy every year, discussions must focus on such a measure.
Since the central and management committees and subcommittees have been formed to ensure successful holding of the event, it is necessary to discuss requirements. The event needs to be held in accord with the COVID-19 preventive rules while great care is necessary for security affairs. For the successful event, officials in respective fields need to perform their tasks dutifully.
Next, Management Committee Chairman Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin Oo Lwin reported on his committee tasks.
Then, officials of the subcommittees for security, finance,information, dinner and entertainment,transport and communications,message compilation,health, welcoming and accommodating cultural troupes and reception, invitation and accommodation, erection of billboards, State flag hoisting, setting off fireworks, decorated drone releasing, auditing, hosting dinner and preparations for the event reported on their respective sectors for successful holding of the event.
The Vice-Senior General coordinated requirements. And central committee members Union ministers and those in attendance made a general round of discussion.
In his concluding remark, the Vice-Senior General stressed the need for respective subcommittees to carry out their tasks as before so as to hold the event at a national level.
As cultural troupes will begin arriving in early February 2023, preparations must be made.
Instructions must be followed to set up billboards on a timely basis and feedbacks need to be given, he said. The Vice-Senior General then stressed the need for ensuring the sustainability of national solidarity and unity among the national races of the Union in accord with the five objectives of the 76th Anniversary Union Day. He urged all to cooperate in successfully realizing of the objectives such as nurturing people to always be imbued with Union spirit, ensuring national unity and perpetuity of the Union after ending armed ethnic conflict, and achieving perpetual peace through unit. Then, the meeting came to a close.
