Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects Tachilek Airport runway upgradation

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, together with SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Commander-in-Chief (Navy) Admiral Moe Aung, Commander-in-Chief (Air) General Tun Aung and officials, inspected runway upgrading of Tachilek Airport this afternoon.
At the briefing hall, an official reported on upgrading tasks.
After hearing the report, the Senior General gave instructions on preparations for continued upgrade of the runway so that large aircraft can land at Tachilek Airport, the need for timely completion, constant clearing of weeds to keep the airport neat and clean, the erection of complete road signs in the town streets, measures for systematic traffic rule enforcement, the need for the systematic installation of new car license plates in accord with the traffic rules as the campaign period has ended, keeping the town neat and clean, storage of rainwater and maintenance of all water sources to ensure enough drinking water, the need to encourage livestock breeding and MSMEs to ensure enough food supplies, keeping records of export items in relation to border trade and research for boosting trade, the need to manufacture local products, systematic keeping of records of outside travellers coming to Tachilek by road and by air, supervisory measures to ban farmland and straw burning in eastern Shan State because Tachilek Airport was closed for 20 days in March and April due to the smoking caused by such burning, measures to eradicate shifting cultivation and adopt highland farming, and systematic supervision by the region government officials.
Then, the Senior General and party inspected the upgrading of the runway, viewed round the airport building and left necessary instructions after hearing reports by officials.
