Ceremony to enshrine Unnalon Hmwayshindaw relics of Maravijaya Buddha Image held

A ceremony to enshrine Unnalon Hmwayshindaw relics was held at Maravijaya Buddha Image in Maravijaya Buddha Park in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, Union Territory,this morning attended by the main donor Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing.
Present at the ceremony were Sayadaws led by Ovadacariya Sayadaw of Maravijaya Buddha Image Construction Patron of Mingala Zeyon Monastery, Pali University, Pyinmana, Nay Pyi Taw Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhammajotikadhaja Bhaddanta Vimalabuddhi.
The Senior General was accompanied by wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant, Nay Pyi Taw Council Chairman U Tin Oo Lwin, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander and officials.
The ceremony was opened by reciting namotassa three times. Sayadaw chanted religious verses and dispensed metta.
The congregation led by the Senior General and wife also dispensed metta by reciting religious verses in chorus.
The main donor Senior General and wife presented the diamonds that would be enshrined as Unnalon Hmwayshindaw relics to Pali Sayadaw, revered the religious verses recited by the Sayadaw, and said Sadhu after reciting a religious poem praising the Unnalon Hmwayshindaw relics .
Pali Sayadaw and the Senior General took positions at the auspicious venue where the diamonds would be enshrined The master of ceremonies read out the Maha Mingala Akhadaw.
The Senior General enshrined a threekilo fine crystal, two large diamonds, and 44 pieces of melee diamonds into the reliquary of Maravijaya Budddha Image. At the time, the master of ceremonies recited mantras.
The Sayadaw, the Senior General and party sprinkled scented water on the relics.
Sayadaws led by Pali Sayadaw recited religious verses to mark the success of the ceremony and share the merits gained.
The congregation recited Buddha sasanamciratithatu three times to conclude the ceremony. Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Daw Kyu Kyu Hla performed religious rites to mark the success of the ceremony.
Included in the 32 characteristics of Buddha Unnalon Hmwayshindaw is a bright relic that sparkles like a diamond and shines like silver. It symbolizes the Buddha’s faithfulness in truth and uprightness.
The enshrined Unnalon Hmwayshindaw relics were two diamonds each measuring 18.08 in rati, 44 4.34-rati diamonds, 53 crystal stones, over three ticals of gold and over 427 ticals of silver.
The four aims of the Image are: for the world to behold the flourishing of Theravada Buddhism in Myanmar, for the country to serve as the centre of Theravada Buddhism, for national peace and tranquility, and for global peace and tranquility. The ceremony to put the connected parts (1, 2 and 3) of the Image onto the Yadana Throne was held on 26 January and successfully completed on 31 January.
The ceremony to enshrined precious objects donated by the wellwishers of the country led by the Senior General were successfully held on 27 January
and 10 February. The ceremony to put 4th part of the Image onto the Yadana Throne was held on 11 February. Ninety five percent of the work of carving the Image has already been completed. Moreover, 82.3 percent of religious buildings have been completed.
