Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing received a delegation led by Orthodox Metropolitan of Singapore and South-East Asia His Eminence Sergiy of Russian Federation at his office here this morning.
At the meeting matters relating to good diplomatic relations between the two countries and programs to further enhance them, exchange of cultural and religious programs, further enhancement of government to government and people to people relations through cordial religious ties, Orthodox church erection project in Myanmar, Buddha Center and replica pagoda of Shwezigon Pagoda in Russia, progress in erecting Maravijaya Buddha Image, which will become the largest marble Buddha statue in the world were cordially discussed.
His Eminence Sergiy prayed for peace and development in Myanmar.
After the meeting, the Senior General and His Eminence Sergiy exchanged commemorative gifts and posed for documentary photo together with attendees.
Present together with the Senior General were SAC Joint Secretary Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture U Ko Ko and officials. His Eminence Sergiy was accompanied by Orthodox priests and Russian Ambassador to Myanmar H.E. Mr. Dr.Nikolay Listopadov.
