“Today’s youths are tomorrow’s adults.” So, all should carry out the nation building task with harmony and unison, based on their childhood friendship.”
The State Administration Council has already adopted the social objective “To promote multiple education systems in order to produce the necessary human resources for building a modern developed democratic nation.” The government is striving for the success of the sectors to promote moral conduct, patriotism and the spirit to cooperate with team spirit of youth members, and the goal is to reinforce and develop human resources of the country. Only then will the future nation gain continuous progress alongside the efforts of good human resources, said Chairman of State Administration Council Commander- in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing in his address at the meeting with trainees of marine youth basic and advanced level course 1/2023 and aviation youth course 1/2023 (senior level and junior level) and instructors at Zeyathiri Beikman this afternoon.

The Senior General expressed pleasure to address the youths who had effectively used their private time during summer holidays by attending the courses. He said Tatmadaw is opening the courses with the aim of bringing about future generations skilled in marine and aviation sciences. As the strength of a nation lies within, youths are the creators and fresh forces of the future country. As they had studied the subjects they were interested in during the summer holidays, their parents and relatives will also take pride in their achievements. They got the opportunity to gain general knowledge and friends at the courses. So the courses enhance love and amity. “Today’s youths are tomorrow’s adults. So, all should carry out the nation building task with harmony and unison, based on their childhood friendship.” Both the marine and aviation courses lasted for four weeks during which trainees learned marine and aviation sciences and military parade subject which is the basic military science. The subject is compulsory as it teaches discipline and obedience. Marine trainees had already learned marine science which included basic navy private subjects, basic marine guidelines, apply marine guidelines and astronomy, basic swimming, rowing and yachting courses. Aviation trainees had already learned aviation history, basic concepts of flying, basic structure of planes, basic knowledge about building scalemodel planes and RC planes/ helicopters piloting courses.
Trainees had already noticed the comprehensiveness of their courses which are not like any other subjects. In fact, adversities lead to greater success. In this regard, trainees should continue to apply their knowledge gained at the course. Thanks to the courses, youths can see with their own eyes the national defence duties of Tatmadaw. They will realize the value of the country’s marine territory and aerial territory and competitive efforts of the countries with coastal areas to promote defence prowess and national interest through ongoing modern research programs. Greater defence prowess supports national development in a way. Hence youths should be aware of the importance of and the value the subjects they have learnt.
As only wise and good-hearted youths will be truly beneficial for the country, youths are required to exert efforts to be such ones. As every wise and goodhearted one can distinguish between the good and the bad in everything, they can understand the importance of wisdom and steer clear of their lives. Only when one can steer clear of one’s career and the future path of one’s family, will one become a person who can defend one’s own country without swaying toward any directions. Books and literature are man’s friend. As they can instill correct intellectual maturity in people, youths are required to be able to choose and read good books and literature. By reading good literature since childhood, youths will acquire fine fundamental spirit that can cultivate correct knowledge, ideologies and wisdom. The value of human life will increase significantly if youths can move forward to the future based on combined experience of spending time beneficially, acting in accordance with discipline and team work acquired during the training course.
If a country is abundant in natural resources but it is not able to utilize them effectively, its development momentum will be slow. Our country boasts favourable conditions for agriculture and livestock breeding in accordance with its climatic conditions, geographical location and three seasons. Only when the country possesses human resources to utilize the favourable conditions effectively, will the economy of the country improve exponentially.
When youths, who are undergoing the first period of life, are required to study education, it is necessary for them to be cautious about engaging in other things that will make their mind stray. Moreover, it is important for them not to neglect their health. In accordance with the saying ‘Arohan Praman Laban,’ good health is an asset. Therefore, it is necessary for them to abstain from addictive behaviour like consuming betel, tobacco and alcohol, which are not beneficial for them. When the source that undermines the morals of youths is exposed, it is found that narcotic drugs are the main culprit. Only when one is healthy and fit, can one lead a desired life. Therefore, youth are required to be conscientious about their health and take part in physical exercise and sports in order to be healthy and fit. Youths are seriously urged to make efforts to play a role in nation-building tasks with their healthy, fit and smart physical and intellectual strengths.
As you were born in the motherland, you are required to be well versed in the traditional history of the country. By understanding the history of Myanmar and the history of the Tatmadaw parallel, youths are required to study constantly to repel the pessimistic ideologies of domestic and foreign saboteurs who are against the interests of the country. Only then, will youths be able to respond to attacks from all sides including the media and become members of new generations who can be relied upon by the country.
To build union spirit through keeping friendship and unity gained from the course, to further explore the basic theories learned at the course at a time when human resources is being nurtured for the State, to read good texts for correct intelligence and behave following the teachings by parents and teachers, to take care of health while learning for education, and to become new generation of youths who are royal and reliable for the State in the future.
