Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing inspects Korea-Myanmar Industrial Complex (KMIC) project, maintenance of Union Hall near Nyaung Hna Pin Village in Hlegu Township

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, together with his entourage, Yangon Region Chief Minister U Soe Thein, the Yangon Command commander and officials, inspected measures being taken to implement the Korea-Myanmar Industrial Complex (KMIC) project near Nyaung Hna Pin Village in Hlegu Township, Yangon Region, this afternoon.
First, Union Minister for Construction U Myo Thant reported on the implementation of Korea- Myanmar Industrial Complex (KMIC) project in parts, plans to construct staff quarters, buildings and roads, measures for electricity and water availability, land use for the project and formation of a steering team for the project.
The Senior General stressed the need to choose location systematically for factory workers to live in, take systematic measures for getting enough water supply, prepare infrastructure to implement projects as quickly as possible, consider doing agricultural and livestock breeding activities and building hospitals for the workers after the project, plant trees to make the project environ green and lush by establishing green zones, grow trees on both sides of the raids and systematically lay wire cables, prepare systematic construction roads leading to the project, contact relevant companies to implement the project promptly, and take supervisory measures to prevent use of cultivable land for other purposes.
Then, the Senior General and party went to the Union Hall where the National Convention was held and viewed the documentary photos on repair and maintenance of the Union Hall and went round in the building.The union minister for construction and officials presented their reports.
The Senior General said it was a historic building where the constitution (2008) crucial for the State was drafted. Therefore, it is necessary to systematically maintain the building.
A total of 702 delegates of eight groups hosted the National Convention seven times from 2004 to 2007 to draft and enact the constitution (2008). After the constitution promulgation, the hall was no longer used. With a lack of maintenance, the building was damaged. But now it has been repaired and being maintained after the SAC Chairman Prime Minister gave guidance to do so during a visit.
