Inauguration ceremony of Maravijaya Monastery in Maravijaya Buddha Park of Maravijaya Buddha Image held

A ceremony to inaugurate Maravijaya Monastery in Maravijaya Buddha Park in Dekkhinathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, Union Territory, where Maravijaya Buddha Image, which will become the tallest stone Buddha Statue in seated posture in the world, is under construction, was held this morning.
Present to pay respects to Sayadaws led by Patron of Mingala Zeyon Monastery, Pali University, Pyinmana, Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Saddhammajotikadhaja Bhaddanta Vimalabuddhi and Sayadaws who would reside in the monastery were the main donor Chairman of State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and wife Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and family, SAC Vice Chairman Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe, Chief of General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye and wife, union ministers and wives, senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief and wives, the Nay Pyi Taw Council chair, the Nay Pyi Taw Command commander and officials.
First, the Senior General offered meal in the Emerald Bowl, fruits, flowers and water to the Buddha Image in the monastery.
An official of the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture presented titles and biography of the five Sayadaws who would reside in the monastery.
The ceremony was opened by reciting namotassa three times and the Senior General and wife and congregation received the Five Precepts from Pali Sayadaw. Sayadaws recited parittas.
Master of ceremonies read out the paper on the entrustment of the monastery. The Senior General, wife and family presented the related documents to Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Bhaddanta Neminda, who would be the principal of the monastery. Merits were then shared.
The Senior General and wife presented offertories to Pali Sayadaw and the Principal Sayadaw.
The Vice-Senior General and wife and attendees presented offertories to Sayadaws.
Pali Sayadaw delivered a sermon, merits gained were shared and the ceremony came to an end by reciting Buddha Sasanam Ciramtithatu three times.
The Senior General and wife threw confetti to mark success of the ceremony.
The Senior General, wife and family and attendees offered day meal to Sayadaws led by Pali Sayadaw.
The Maravijaya Monastery was donated by the main donor Senior General Min Aung Hlaing and Daw Kyu Kyu Hla and other well-wishers. The monastery comes complete with systematically arranged prayer chamber, lecture rooms, dorms, library, reading rooms, dining room, toilets, kitchen, and hostels for catering assistants for the convenience of monks.
