A delegation led by Under Secretary General Mr. Martin Griffiths, head of Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordination of the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs paid a courtesy call on Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing at the parlour of the diplomatic hall of the Office of the Chairman of the State Administration Council in Nay Pyi Taw this afternoon.
Also present at the call together with the Senior General were Joint Secretary of the SAC Lt-Gen Ye Win Oo, Union Ministers U Than Swe, U Ko Ko Hlaing, Dr Soe Win and officials while the undersecretary general was accompanied by members of the delegation.
They exchanged views on political developments of Myanmar, assumption of State duties by the Tatmadaw in accordance with the 2008 constitution due to voting irregularities in the 2020 multi-party general election, efforts made by the SAC to move forward firmly on the path of multi-party democracy aspired by the people, circulation of fake news about Myanmar in the international community, the need to know true situation of Myanmar, shortages of assistance by international organizations including the UN during the outbreak of COVID-19 and after Cyclone Mocha and potential for cooperation for matters related to humanitarian assistance.
