First, the Senior General took the salute of the cadet company and inspected it. Then the cadet company saluted the Senior General with slow-march past and quick-march past.
Afterwards, the Senior General presented the Best Cadet Award to Cadet Yu Yu Naing.
In his address, the Senior General said the Graduate Female Cadet Course was opened with the aim of turning out female military officers to enable servicewomen to take part in the national defence duty. As women represent over half the population of the country, they should partake in national development and defence duties with patriotism. Hence, women are being trained to participate in building the power of national defence, to serve in the Tatmadaw and to enhance their role.
The Tatmadaw has been the force to be reckoned with in all the successive periods and its history is indivisible with that of the country. The Tatmadaw was set up during the independence struggle and has the fine tradition of safeguarding the country’s independence. Hence it is important to know its prestigious historical tradition.
The Tatmadaw born during the independence struggle joined hands with and led the people during the struggles from anti-colonialist and antifascist battles to the struggles to regain independence. During the post-independence period the Tatmadaw, together with the successive governments, served the national duty to ensure the perpetuation of national sovereignty, enforcement of rule of law, or in other words played the main role in shouldering the historic duties.
In times of emergency, Tatmadaw is always dutiful in protecting the country and serving the national political tasks. Hence they must seriously conduct studies to have the knowledge about the Tatmadaw’s history and fine traditions and to protect them at the risk of their lives.
History of Tatmadaw has recorded some of the brilliant performances of female troops that began during the struggle to restore independence. The role of women was important in the successive periods. There were many heroines who stood shoulder to shoulder with male counterparts in the independence struggle during the colonial era.
The current age also sees the emergence of a large number of brilliant women who are honourable and reliable as examples in social and economic fields and areas of knowledge, technology and art. They must serve their duties well based on military science and the art of leadership disseminated by the course and practical experience given by field training.
Every single military personnel is the person who voluntarily joined the Tatmadaw, propelled by their personal commitment to safeguard the Nation, devoid of any coercion or external influence. In the assorted training offered by the Tatmadaw, comrades eagerly embark on the journey to becoming commendable servicewomen, driven by their own resolute decisions. Amidst the challenges that unfold in service, it becomes paramount to embody the indomitable spirit of a resilient soldier.
Furthermore, I would like to implore that comrades will have to live in a manner without impeding the aspirations and goals of individuals within the service, whilst actively striving to become commendable servicewomen. At the core of the Tatmadaw's mission lies the paramount duty of ensuring the security and defence of our Nation, safeguarding the lives and property of all citizens. As part of an effort to bolster the defence sector, the Tatmadaw aspires to emerge as the modern and patriotic armed forces, distinguished by heightened combat power and capability optimized for conventional warfare. Training is essential for every armed force to have prowess and it is necessary to craft the armed forces into the preeminent Tatmadaw, wellversed in the combat power and capability.
In the ongoing process, all Tatmadaw members are committed to recurring training, dedicated to sustaining physical fitness, sharpening tactical skills, and fostering a high level of education. In an era marked by the evolution of cutting-edge military science, munitions, and technology leap, it becomes imperative to elevate the calibre of training to keep pace with international criteria. Perennial training is not solely dedicated to mastering the adept use of technologically sophisticated weaponry and equipment but also to ensuring the maintenance of physical well-being, indispensable for effective engagement on genuine battlefields against adversaries.
As the behaviors of every military individual significantly reflect upon the Tatmadaw's prestige, it becomes imperative for each comrade to exemplify military discipline. An organization can see the erosion of disciplinary measures and ethical standards if it leads to detrimental impacts. Therefore, our military personnel have to abide by issued orders, directives, rules, and regulations,
whilst faithfully executing the duties for the Nation and the Tatmadaw, exemplifying the commendable soldiers.
In the life of junior officers, they strictly follow the orders of superiors as a nurture of good leader and good follower. Good follower in the life of subordinate is a first step for a good leader of the future. A leader must execute tasks embodying the hallmark characteristics of leadership: initiative and innovation; adept command and control; in-depth knowledge and a thirst for learning; moral integrity; high morale; loyalty; wholesomeness of three capabilities; and exemplary discipline.
Complying with the Four Righteous Awareness: only “Going to the right place”; “Having a right companion”; “Doing the right job”; and “Speaking the right words”, comrades must cultivate personal development and living to become exemplars of moral integrity throughout their lives. Therefore, I would like to remind the commitment of comrades dedicating themselves to fulfilling the assigned duties diligently for evolving into a good leaders, embodying the indispensable virtues intrinsic to leadership.
Comrades, on the brink of assuming roles as young commission officers within the Tatmadaw (Army, Navy and Air), shall imminently embark upon their designated duties. The extensive training imperative for burgeoning leaders, spanning basic military skills, leadership development, and command and control, has been imparted to comrades through a comprehensive blend of theoretical insight and pragmatic exercise. At the regiment, unit and headquarters where comrades are poised to serve, a structured daily administrative regimen prevails. It is imperative to meticulously carry out the duties of the General Staff, Adjutant Staff, and Quartermaster Staff in strict adherence to the prescribed Staff Duty protocol.
As Tatmadaw is born of the people as a people’s Tatmadaw, they have to join hands with the people with utmost efforts in overcoming any difficulties and challenges to become a reliable Tatmadaw of the people.Responding to historical imperatives, the Tatmadaw has remained an enduring presence at the forefront of the country’s national politics to date. The national politics is concern for the whole nation to bring about peace and tranquility, prosperity, fair and justice, and well-being of the people.
As a custodian of our Nation's defence and national political imperatives, our Tatmadaw remains steadfast, irrespective of governmental forms and political structures, committed to embracing the national policy, which encompasses safeguarding Our Three Main National Causes and the Nation's Constitution and ensuring the lives and property of the people without reservation.
To continue to keep going on the good practice and noble traditions of the Tatmadaw with patriotism and noble spirit of loving the country, to continue to uphold the noble traditions of the Tatmadaw, which are parallel in the history, to make efforts to become good female military personnel living and working without affecting the goals and expectations, to train continuously to keep themselves physically and mentally fit to be able to discharge the duties assigned, to act according to the characteristics of leadership and always strive for the good of yourself and your fellow soldiers, to train to able to preserve and safeguard sovereignty of the State by always paying attention to Our Three Main National Causes, and to always work hard to become good women officers who can be relied on by the State and the Tatmadaw.

In his congratulatory speech, he said that he was as proud as his parents of such outstanding awards of the cadets. The outstanding cadets need to maintain the good foundations of their hard work with perseverance and diligence and effort during the training course periodthroughout their life. As graduated female cadets have studied and completed university education and post-graduate education, they have studied philosophy and lifestyle and already have skills and experience. At the basic education level, the focus is on teaching while the focus is on studying at university, the higher education level. They have made efforts to pass matriculation and successfully complete university and postgraduate studies, and now they have attended the officer training course, achieved outstanding success and become female officers due to the results of their efforts.
Moreover, they must not forget the gratitude of their parents who have fed and cared for them since childhood, and the best way to repay the gratitude is to listen to their parents. They must steer the path of their own life with the ability to deliberate themselves. They need to make efforts to become good military officers whose parents are proud of and who can be relied on by the State and the Tatmadaw. They are to continue to workhard throughout their life by maintaining social experience gained from the university and good basics taught and trained by the officers training school to improve their life without losing their goals. The cadets must strive to become the people who can contribute to the good of the country in any field.
