Former President U Thein Sein attends 70th Anniversary of Five Principle of Peaceful Coexistence in Beijing

U Thein Sein, former president of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar and Myanmar Delegation, attended the opening ceremony of the 70th Anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence held at 10 am on 28 June 2024 at Great Hall of the People in Beijing, China. President of the People's Republic of China Mr Xi Jinping delivered a speech at the opening ceremony and highlighted the core principles and the essence of peaceful coexistence and critical changes, an indication to establish a community with peace and tranquillity and a shared future for humankind during the previous 70 years.
Also present at the opening ceremony were 20 former Heads of State and Heads of Government and representatives from 100 countries, international organizations, diplomats, Media and Business communities.
The former President was accompanied by Chairman of the Myanmar Institute of Strategic and International Studies (MISIS) U Thant Kyaw, Chairman of the Myanmar-China Friendship Association U Tin Oo, Chairperson of the U Nu-Daw Mya Yi Foundation Daw Than Than Nu and other officials.
Former President U Thein Sein attended a luncheon hosted by Mr Wang Yi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, Director of the Office of the Central Commission for Foreign Affairs, and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China, at 11:30 am at Liuhe-Diao Yutai and gave a remark on the vital essence of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence for world peace, peaceful settlement of international disputes, mutual respects, equality and tranquillity among countries in adhering the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence.
Mr Nong Due Manh, former Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee, Ms Dilma Rousseff, former President of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Mr Mulatu Teshome Wirtu, former President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr Dominique Marle Francois Galouzeau de Villepin, former Prime Minister of French Republic also attended the luncheon.
In the evening, former President U Thein Sein attended the dinner hosted by Mr WangChao, Chairman of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs at St Regis Hotel.
