Short-range rockets fired by terrorist insurgents at Lashio kill and wound local people

Six locals including three children of ages between 12 and 14 years were killed by shortrange rockets when the shells fired by terrorist insurgents landed and exploded in ward 1, area 3, Lashio, Shan State (North).
Terrorist insurgents fired short-range rockets into Lashio at about 6.45 am today from a place about 4,000 metres northeast of the town. The shells launched by terrorist insurgents hit a house on Thaya Street, ward 1, area 3 and killed three children from ages 12 years to 14 years, one man and two women, totaling six. Security forces and social welfare associations rushed them to the Lashio People’s Hospital where they were pronounced dead.
At about 3pm, a short-range rocket fired by terrorist insurgents landed on a house on Nila street, ward 10, Lashio, but it failed to explode. Security forces defused and cleared the shell for public safety.
At about 4.30 pm today, terrorist insurgents fired more shortrange rockets at Lashio, and four men and three women were wounded when one of the projectiles fell into the compound of Panoak monastery, ward 5, area 1. Another short-range rocket hit a house in ward 4, area 3, and one man was killed and one woman and one child were wounded. Security forces and social welfare associations rushed them to Lashio People’s Hospital for medical treatment.
Terrorist insurgents are committing disgusting acts of killing local people who were enjoying a peaceful life or destroying towns and villages by attacking non-military targets.
In fact, they are committing war crimes. In order to crush the terrorist insurgents, security forces are beefing up their counterterrorism operations in cooperation with the people.
