KIA, KPDF terrorist insurgents fire short-range rockets into Bhamo, killing two monks, injuring three monks, three novices, three innocent people

A short-range rocket fired by KIA and KPDF terrorist insurgents this afternoon fell into the compound of the Dhammapala Lepaw Monastery in Myoma Ward in Bhamo in Kachin State, killing two monks residing in the monastery and injuring other three monks, three novices and three innocent people, all of whom were hit by shrapnel.
In the incident, KIA and KPDF terrorist insurgents were firing heavy weapon rounds and shortrange rockets at departmental and residential buildings, which are not military targets, from afar and at about 12 pm today, a short-range rockets fell on Mya Hnin Si hall of the Dhammapala Lepaw Monastery Compound in Myoma Ward. Due to the explosion of the short-range rocket, two monks, who were residing in the hall, died of injuries caused by rocket shrapnel and other three monks, three novices and three innocent people were injured. The injured have been transported to Bhamo People's Hospital for treatments by am[1]bulance vehicles of a charity organization.
As KIA and KPDF terrorist insurgents are despicably targeting and attacking towns and villages that are stable and peaceful with heavy weapons and short-range rockets, damaging religious, departmental and residential buildings and schools in towns and villages and causing losses of lives and property of the people, local residents have condemned the acts of the terrorist insurgents.
Security forces are enhancing necessary security measures to protect lives and properties of the people and regional stability.
