Vice Chairman of the State Administration Council Deputy Prime Minister Vice-Senior General Soe Win and wife Daw Than Than Nwe watched the Maha Janaka of ten Jatakas performance competition of the Silver Jubilee 25th Anniversary Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition (2024) at the open air theatre of Nay Pyi Taw Council this evening.

Also present at the competition together with the Vice-Senior General and wife were union ministers and their wives, the chairman of Nay Pyi Taw Council, deputy ministers, members of judges, managers, instructors and national race contestants from regions and states, staff and their families  and members of the public who love Jataka performance.

First, the Vice-Senior General and wife and party watched the performance of original Maha Janaka Jataka presented through music, dances, Jataka scripts of Myanmar traditional Jataka troupes and arts of singing, crying and speaking by Shwe Yangon Region Jataka Troupe, which represents Yangon Region.

Then, the Vice-Senior General and wife cordially greeted judges and contestants.

The Jataka performance competitions were presented by Maha Ayeya Jataka Troupe, which represents Ayeyawady Region, on 14 October, by Phankharmyay Jataka Troupe, which represents Magway Region, on 15 October, by Min Naing Soe Jataka Troupe, which represents Mon State, on 16 October, by Manmyo Gonye Jataka Troupe, which represents Mandalay Region, on 17 October, and by Shwe Yangon Region Jataka Troupe, which represents Yangon Region, today. Jataka Troupes representing Bago Region and Sagaing Region will present their performance of the Jataka on 19 and 20 October respectively.
